Why We Built Cloptima: Dashboards Aren't Enough Anymore
The Dashboard Problem
We've used every cloud cost tool on the market. They all follow the same pattern: connect your accounts, wait for data, look at charts, find anomalies manually, export to spreadsheet, discuss in meetings. The dashboards are pretty. The insights are shallow. And they require a full-time human to extract value.
What We Wanted Instead
We wanted a tool that would: tell us WHY costs changed (not just that they changed), predict cost impact BEFORE code ships, optimize our expensive queries automatically, let us ask questions in plain English, and integrate with GitHub/Slack where we already work — not in a separate portal.
The AI-Native Difference
Traditional tools are databases with a visualization layer. Cloptima is an intelligence layer on top of your cost data. When costs spike, we don't just alert — we correlate with deployments and explain the cause. When a PR changes workload definitions, we calculate and comment with projected impact. When queries are expensive, we provide refactored versions.

What's Next
We're building toward autonomous FinOps: agents that don't just identify optimizations but implement them (with approval). MCP integration means your custom AI agents can query costs. The CLI means your CI/CD can gate on cost. Every feature we build makes cost optimization more automated and less manual.
